Collega il tuo dominio

Il tuo sito avrà il tuo dominio, quello che hai scelto. Tutta la parte tecnica la gestisco io: a te basta un solo passaggio, e quale sia dipende soltanto da dove hai registrato il dominio. Segui il caso che ti riguarda qui sotto.

Caso A · consigliato più semplice ed economico

Il tuo dominio è su Cloudflare

Se hai registrato il dominio direttamente su Cloudflare, non c'è nessun nameserver da cambiare: ti basta invitarmi come collaboratore del tuo account, così posso gestire il DNS per te.

  1. Accedi al tuo account Cloudflare su dash.cloudflare.com con l'email e la password che usi per gestire il dominio.
  2. In alto a destra apri il menu del tuo account e vai su Manage Account (Gestisci account), poi apri la pagina Members (Membri). Nota: per invitare qualcuno devi essere Super Administrator.
  3. Clicca il pulsante Invite (Invita).
  4. Nel campo delle email inserisci l'indirizzo che ti indicherò io, e come ruolo scegli Administrator (in alternativa il ruolo DNS, che permette di modificare solo i record DNS).
  5. Clicca Continue to summary (Continua al riepilogo), controlla email e ruolo, poi clicca Invite per confermare.
  6. Fatto: riceverò un'email di invito e la accetterò io. Da quel momento potrò gestire il DNS del tuo dominio; non devi fare altro.
Nota

Con un dominio registrato su Cloudflare non vanno cambiati i nameserver: basta invitarmi come membro. Scegli Administrator (semplice e sufficiente) oppure, se preferisci concedere il minimo, il ruolo DNS. Non serve condividere nessuna password. Per invitare devi avere il ruolo Super Administrator ed email verificata. Puoi revocare l'accesso in qualsiasi momento dalla stessa pagina Members.

Ti serve l'email

Ti dirò io quale indirizzo email inserire nell'invito: è la mia email operativa. Aspetta che te la mandi prima di completare il passaggio 4.

Caso B

Il tuo dominio è su un altro provider

Se hai comprato il dominio su un altro registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Aruba…) o è già registrato altrove, il passo è cambiare i nameserver e incollare i 2 valori Cloudflare che ti invio io. Qui sotto trovi il metodo generico, che vale per qualsiasi provider, e poi le istruzioni specifiche per i provider più comuni.

Metodo generico (vale per tutti)

  1. Entra nell'account del sito dove hai comprato il dominio (il tuo registrar) e apri la pagina del dominio.
  2. Cerca la sezione dei nameserver: può chiamarsi Nameserver, Name server, Server dei nomi, DNS o Gestione DNS.
  3. Cambia l'impostazione da «automatici»/«predefiniti» (o «nameserver del provider») a personalizzati (Custom / Nameserver personalizzati).
  4. Cancella i nameserver presenti e al loro posto inserisci esattamente i 2 valori Cloudflare che ti ho inviato (uno per riga). Importante: sostituiscili, non aggiungerli a quelli vecchi.
  5. Controlla che non ci siano spazi o errori di battitura, poi premi Salva / Conferma.
  6. Fatto. Il cambio si attiva da pochi minuti fino a qualche ora (di norma entro 24 ore): in quella finestra il sito potrebbe essere raggiungibile a intermittenza, è normale.
  7. Se il registrar chiede di disattivare il DNSSEC, disattivalo prima di salvare (altrimenti il dominio può risultare irraggiungibile). Nel dubbio scrivimi.
Attenzione

L'errore più comune è aggiungere i nameserver Cloudflare a quelli esistenti invece di sostituirli: devono restare solo i 2 valori Cloudflare. Copiali esattamente come te li ho mandati, senza spazi. Non toccare i record DNS (A, MX, TXT) sul registrar: dopo il cambio nameserver la posta e il resto li gestisco io su Cloudflare. La propagazione varia da pochi minuti a 24–48 ore.

Istruzioni per provider specifico

GoDaddy
  1. Accedi al tuo account GoDaddy e apri il Portafoglio domini (Domain Portfolio).
  2. Clicca sul dominio che vuoi configurare per aprire la pagina delle impostazioni del dominio.
  3. Nel menu del dominio, seleziona la sezione DNS e poi Nameserver.
  4. Clicca su Modifica e scegli l'opzione «Userò i miei server dei nomi» (I'll use my own nameservers).
  5. Cancella eventuali nameserver esistenti e inserisci i 2 nameserver Cloudflare che ti ho inviato (uno per riga).
  6. Salva cliccando Salva e poi conferma con Continua.
  7. Se il dominio ha la protezione attiva, completa la verifica di identità inserendo il codice ricevuto via SMS/app authenticator oppure la password monouso inviata alla tua email.
Nota

La propagazione DNS di solito richiede circa un'ora ma può arrivare fino a 48 ore: nel frattempo il sito potrebbe risultare irraggiungibile o intermittente, è normale. Servono esattamente i 2 nameserver che ti ho fornito, entrambi. Non cambiare altre impostazioni del dominio (registrazione, contatti, rinnovo). Se hai un'email @tuodominio gestita da GoDaddy, avvisami prima: cambiando i nameserver dovrò ricreare i record email su Cloudflare.

Namecheap
  1. Accedi al tuo account su namecheap.com (in alto a destra, «Sign In»).
  2. Nel menu a sinistra clicca Domain List, poi il pulsante Manage accanto al tuo dominio.
  3. Scorri fino alla sezione Nameservers e nel menu a tendina scegli Custom DNS.
  4. Cancella eventuali valori presenti e inserisci i 2 nameserver Cloudflare che ti ho inviato, uno per riga (es. nome1.ns.cloudflare.com e nome2.ns.cloudflare.com).
  5. Inserisci solo i nameserver, senza indirizzi IP.
  6. Clicca il segno di spunta verde (✓) per salvare.
  7. Fatto: mandami un messaggio e da lì gestisco io tutto il resto. La modifica può richiedere fino a 24 ore per attivarsi.
Nota

Usa esattamente i 2 nameserver che ti invio io (sono unici per il tuo dominio, non generici). La propagazione può richiedere fino a 24 ore (raramente di più): nel frattempo il sito potrebbe non essere ancora raggiungibile, è normale. Non modificare altre impostazioni del dominio.

Aruba (aruba.it)
  1. Accedi all'area riservata Aruba su admin.aruba.it con le tue credenziali (email/username e password).
  2. Individua il dominio nell'elenco e apri il suo Pannello di controllo / pannello di gestione DNS.
  3. Nella sezione Name Server clicca su «Sostituisci record», leggi il messaggio e conferma con «Continua».
  4. Inserisci i 2 valori di nameserver Cloudflare che ti ho inviato (uno per riga). Importante: per i domini .it indica anche l'indirizzo IP di ciascun nameserver, non solo il nome.
  5. Lascia il TTL predefinito e, alla voce posta, scegli l'opzione per usare server esterni (la mail sarà gestita da Cloudflare).
  6. Conferma con «Sostituisci» e poi «Prosegui» per salvare.
  7. Fatto: avvisami. La propagazione può richiedere fino a 24–48 ore; nel frattempo il sito potrebbe essere raggiungibile a intermittenza.
Nota

Servono almeno 2 nameserver: non si può mischiare un solo NS esterno con quelli Aruba (o tutti Aruba o tutti esterni). Per i domini .it Aruba richiede anche gli IP dei nameserver (glue), non solo il nome: se non li hai, chiedimeli. Il cambio richiede che sul dominio sia attivo il servizio «Gestione DNS» di Aruba; se l'opzione manca, va attivato o si contatta l'assistenza Aruba. Non toccare altri record o l'intestatario del dominio. Per tornare indietro esiste «Ripristina Name Server».

Il tuo provider non è in elenco?

Nessun problema: il metodo generico qui sopra vale per qualsiasi registrar (le etichette cambiano nome ma i passaggi sono gli stessi). Se hai un dubbio, scrivimi prima di salvare e ti guido io.

E poi?

Dopo questo passaggio penso io a tutto: il sito online e le email sul tuo dominio. Il dominio resta tuo, intestato a te — io mi occupo solo della configurazione tecnica. Appena hai fatto, mandami un messaggio.

Connect your domain

Your website will use your own domain — the one you chose. I handle all the technical side: all you need is a single step, and which one depends only on where your domain is registered. Follow the case that applies to you below.

Case A · recommended simplest and cheapest

Your domain is on Cloudflare

If you registered your domain directly on Cloudflare, there are no nameservers to change: you just invite me as a member of your account, so I can manage the DNS for you.

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare account at dash.cloudflare.com with the email and password you use to manage the domain.
  2. Open your account menu (top right) and go to Manage Account, then open the Members page. Note: you must be a Super Administrator to invite people.
  3. Click the Invite button.
  4. In the email field enter the address I'll give you, and set the role to Administrator (alternatively the DNS role, which allows editing DNS records only).
  5. Click Continue to summary, check the email and role, then click Invite to confirm.
  6. Done: I'll receive an invitation email and accept it myself. From then on I can manage your domain's DNS; nothing else is needed from you.
Note

For a domain registered on Cloudflare, do NOT change the nameservers: just invite me as a member. Pick Administrator (simple and sufficient) or, if you prefer minimal access, the DNS role. No need to share any passwords. To invite, you must be a Super Administrator with a verified email. You can revoke access anytime from the same Members page.

You'll need the email

I'll tell you which email address to enter in the invitation — it's my working email. Wait for me to send it before completing step 4.

Case B

Your domain is on another provider

If you bought your domain from another registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Aruba…) or it's already registered elsewhere, the step is to change the nameservers and paste the 2 Cloudflare values I send you. Below you'll find the generic method, which works for any provider, then specific instructions for the most common ones.

Generic method (works for everyone)

  1. Sign in to the account where you bought the domain (your registrar) and open the domain's page.
  2. Find the nameserver section: it may be called Nameservers, Name servers, DNS or DNS management.
  3. Switch the setting from «automatic»/«default» (or «provider nameservers») to Custom (custom nameservers).
  4. Delete the nameservers listed there and replace them with exactly the 2 Cloudflare values I sent you (one per line). Important: replace them, do not add them alongside the old ones.
  5. Double-check there are no typos or extra spaces, then click Save / Confirm.
  6. Done. The change takes effect from a few minutes up to a few hours (usually within 24 hours): during that window the site may load on and off, which is normal.
  7. If your registrar asks you to turn off DNSSEC, disable it before saving (otherwise the domain can become unreachable). If unsure, message me.
Watch out

The most common mistake is adding the Cloudflare nameservers to the existing ones instead of replacing them: only the 2 Cloudflare values should remain. Copy them exactly as sent, with no spaces. Don't edit the DNS records (A, MX, TXT) at the registrar: after the nameserver switch, email and everything else are managed by me on Cloudflare. Propagation ranges from a few minutes to 24–48 hours.

Instructions for a specific provider

GoDaddy
  1. Sign in to your GoDaddy account and open your Domain Portfolio.
  2. Click the domain you want to configure to open its Domain Settings page.
  3. In the domain menu, select the DNS section and then Nameservers.
  4. Click Edit and choose the option «I'll use my own nameservers».
  5. Clear any existing nameservers and enter the 2 Cloudflare nameservers I sent you (one per line).
  6. Save by clicking Save and then confirm with Continue.
  7. If the domain has Domain Protection, complete identity verification by entering the code sent via SMS/authenticator app or the one-time password emailed to your account.
Note

DNS propagation usually takes about an hour but can take up to 48 hours: during that window the site may be unreachable or intermittent, which is normal. Enter exactly the 2 nameservers I gave you, both of them. Do NOT change any other domain settings (registration, contacts, renewal). If you have an @yourdomain email hosted at GoDaddy, tell me first: switching nameservers means I must recreate the email records on Cloudflare.

Namecheap
  1. Sign in to your account at namecheap.com («Sign In» at the top right).
  2. In the left menu click Domain List, then the Manage button next to your domain.
  3. Scroll to the Nameservers section and, in the dropdown, select Custom DNS.
  4. Clear any existing values and enter the 2 Cloudflare nameservers I sent you, one per line (e.g. name1.ns.cloudflare.com and name2.ns.cloudflare.com).
  5. Enter only the nameservers, no IP addresses.
  6. Click the green checkmark (✓) to save.
  7. Done: send me a message and I'll take care of everything else. The change can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
Note

Use exactly the 2 nameservers I send you (they are unique to your domain, not generic). Propagation can take up to 24 hours (rarely longer): meanwhile the site may not be reachable yet — this is normal. Do not change any other domain settings.

Aruba (aruba.it)
  1. Sign in to your Aruba account at admin.aruba.it with your credentials (email/username and password).
  2. Find your domain in the list and open its Control Panel / DNS management panel.
  3. In the Name Server section click «Sostituisci record» (Replace record), read the notice and confirm with «Continua».
  4. Enter the 2 Cloudflare nameserver values I sent you (one per line). Important: for .it domains you must also enter each nameserver's IP address, not just the name.
  5. Leave the default TTL and, for mail, choose the external-server option (email will be handled by Cloudflare).
  6. Confirm with «Sostituisci» (Replace) and then «Prosegui» to save.
  7. Done: let me know. Propagation can take up to 24–48 hours; the site may be intermittently reachable meanwhile.
Note

At least 2 nameservers are required: you cannot mix a single external NS with Aruba's (either all Aruba or all external). For .it domains Aruba also requires the nameservers' IP addresses (glue), not just the names: ask me if you don't have them. Changing NS requires Aruba's «Gestione DNS» service to be active on the domain; if the option is missing, it must be enabled or contact Aruba support. Do not touch other records or the domain registrant. To revert, use «Ripristina Name Server».

Your provider isn't listed?

No problem: the generic method above works for any registrar (the labels have different names, but the steps are the same). If in doubt, message me before saving and I'll walk you through it.

What happens next?

After this step I take care of everything: the site online and the email on your domain. The domain stays yours, registered in your name — I only handle the technical setup. As soon as you're done, send me a message.
